“At Legendary Comics, we love the new television series, so we couldn’t be more excited to expand the world of show with previously untold comic book adventures,” said Robert Napton, Senior Vice President of Legendary Comics. “There are some surprises in store we think fans will love.”
“What is exciting about comic books is that they are not limited by budget—only by the imagination,” said Executive Producers Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni. “This ‘Lost in Space’ comic is no exception. Legendary Comics has outdone themselves this time.”
Thirty years in the future, en route to a distant colony, the Robinson family finds itself thrown off-course when their ship crash-lands on a mysterious and dangerous planet. On this strange new world, they encounter a hostile environment and an enigmatic alien robot. In order to survive, the Robinson family must rely on their training, and they’ll discover that no matter how lost they are, their family is their home. The new graphic series offers readers the chance to explore new missions, not aired on television, as our heroes struggle to survive in an unknown world full of new creatures, unexpected visitors, and new danger.
The first volume of the four-part series will be available in October 2018 online and in retail stores, with the subsequent volumes throughout 2019. A preview of Volume One recounting a mission featuring Penny is now available at https://bit.ly/2LgV9dA.

Legendary Television is currently in pre-production on the second season of “Lost in Space,” the Netflix Original series based on Irwin Allen’s classic 1960’s science fiction series starring Molly Parker (“House of Cards”), Toby Stephens (“Black Sails”) and Parker Posey (Café Society). In this modern update, the science fiction show follows the Robinson family as they fight against all odds to survive after crash landing on an alien planet and finding themselves surrounded by hidden dangers.
]]>“The riffing hilarity loved by fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 since 1988 is taking on a whole new medium: comics! Created for comics by series creator Joel Hodgson, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Comic finds Jonah Heston, Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, and Gypsy thrust into the 2-D world of public domain comics, with riffing as their only defense! But trust us, these comics have it coming.”
From that and the two variant covers for issue 1, we can learn a few things about the upcoming series. We do know that the comics will feature the cast of the current seasons, with Jonah Ray Rodrigues as Jonah Heston and Felicia Day’s Kinga Forrester in the starring role. We also finally found a format for these books. In the initial rumor, no details were provided about what the MST3K comics would be like/about, but we now know that Jonah and the Bots will be riffing over public domain comics.
We also know that creator Joel Hodgson, who played Joel Robinson in the show’s first 5 seasons, is in charge of this comic series and long-time DVD cover artist Steve Vance is drawing the variant covers. Personal theory, but the sticker on the front of the cover could suggest that the new season of MST3K could be out around the same time as the comic’s release in September. Be sure to check out issue one of Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Comic at your local comic store this September. Hit the button, Frank.

The Dark Horse and Netflix is a multi-year publishing deal that will debut in September 2018. “Dark Horse is known for championing stories and storytellers,” said Dark Horse President and Founder Mike Richardson. “We are so excited to work with Netflix to bring the world of Stranger Things to comics.”
Award-winning writer Jody Houser (Faith, Orphan Black, Mother Panic), penciller Stefano Martino (Legs Weaver, Nathan Never), inker Keith Champagne (JSA, Superboy), colorist Lauren Affe (Rebels, Five Ghosts), and letterer Nate Piekos (Briggs Land, Green Arrow) unite to bring the nostalgia of the Netflix original series to comic shelves in the first installment of Dark Horse’s publishing program.
Stranger Things #1 (of four issues) follows Will Byers as he enters a dimension of decay and destruction where he must use his wits and resolve to dodge the pursuit of the Demogorgon and escape the Upside Down. Stranger Things #1 features a cover by artist Aleksi Briclot (New Avengers, Maskemane) with three variant covers, one each from Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire, Blue Beetle), visual artist Kyle Lambert, and a photo-variant cover designed by Patrick Satterfield and Netflix.

“A bold new direction for the Black Panther! For years, T’Challa has fought off invaders from his homeland, protecting Wakanda from everything from meddling governments to long-lost gods. Now, he will discover that Wakanda is much bigger than he ever dreamed…Across the vast Multiverse lies an empire founded in T’Challa’s name.” – Marvel.com
We have a new creative team working on the story, Ta-Nehisi Coates comes in to write the action packed adventure while Daniel Acuna draws the panther king.
Issue 1 gives us many surprises and hints towards the big screen characters. Names like M’Baku, Okoye and T’Challa are just a few familiar names that appear. All is not as it seems in this new intergalactic- spacey empire. The imperials, the miners or the nameless, the Askari, and the rebels are the four groups in the series.
T’Challa starts as a nameless miner and cannot remember his true identity. He sees visions of his wife, Storm, asking him to come back home. The rebels see T’Challa in action and start a riot in the vibranium mines. The once-wakandan king joins the rebels, and is now faced with the challenge of finding out who he is, and why he is in this strange new world.
Acuna does an awesome job with the art and Ta-Neshi leaves us with many questions and only a few answers. All will be explained as we are taken on a journey outside of the African nation and into an intergalactic empire!
